Try This: Tooth Powder

We have moved on from tubes and pastes, check out the three tooth powders we currently love for their natural ingredients, flavor and portability!

Have you tried tooth powder? We tend to stick with the tried and true in our oral hygiene routine, but were curious to check out this trend that is liquid-free with naturally brightening, lightening and deodorizing qualities. To use, simply tap a small amount of powder to wetted toothbrush and attend to teeth, gums and tongue with gentle brushstrokes. While more of an investment than your over-the-counter tube variety, a little of this goes a long way! Added bonus: it is easily packable and liquid-free, which means no more toothpaste mess in your toiletries bag. Here are three we recommend!

Dirty Mouth Organic Toothpowder contains vital and trace minerals important to your teeth, and is also Paleo. We admittedly never knew our current paste had carbs, but if that is a requirement for you, Dirty Mouth is your brand. To Buy: Dirty Mouth Spearmint Toothpowder ($24)

The most highly rated (in our research) The Dirt is is completely unprocessed, featuring Extra Fine Bentonite Clay, Organic Saigon Cinnamon, Baking Soda, Organic Myrrh Gum Powder, Organic Nutmeg, Sweet Orange Essential Oil & Organic Cardamon Essential Oil. The Dirt is made to support your natural re-mineralization process and get your teeth back to their strong, sparkly selves. It also boasts great flavor and reviewers seem to agree! To Buy: The Dirt ($14.99)

Our personal favorite is Fig + Yarrow's Cornmint Lavendar Tooth Powder. It has the addition of aloe vera for healing and decreasing inflammation; myrrh's  which has antimicrobial and astringent properties for overall gum health; and the essential oils of cornmint and lavender provide a uniquely delicious flavor. To Buy: Fig + Yarrow Toothpowder ($19)

p.s. The right soap for your skin (and the environment)!
