For the past several years, Susanne Kaufmann has offered a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Detox program for guests of the Hotel Post Bezau. The program was developed by Susanne in consultation with Dr. Brigitte Klett, a general practitioner and expert in Chinese medicine. Each guest participating in the TCM Detox receives a health evaluation based on traditional and Chinese medicine, plus a personalized diet and treatment plan, and everyone is partnered with a TCM practitioner to provide support throughout the process.

To extend the reach of the innovative and effective program, Susanne created a 10-Day Home Detox that mirrors the one offered at the Hotel Post Bezau. It includes special TCM detox recipes, Qi Gong exercises, treatments using Susanne Kaufmann products, TCM detox treatments adapted to home applications and a range of well-being tips.

Both at Hotel Post Bezau and in the at-home version, the TCM Detox Cuisine Diet is an important component. Participants are encouraged to avoid sour and highly processed food and beverages including coffee, alcohol, sweetened drinks and most dairy and animal products such as yogurt, milk, meat and sausages. These foods produce acid in our bodies, which can otherwise be neutralized by bases mainly contained in fruits and vegetables. An unbalanced diet, lack of exercise, sleep deprivation and stress and can cause our natural acid-base equilibrium to become unstable. For this reason, the detox diet is comprised primarily of alkaline foods that support the body’s acid-base balance.

However, the Susanne Kaufmann TCM Home Detox is not a fast. Participants eat regularly throughout the program, with a handful of particular ingredients identified as the 5 Detox Stars:

  • Beetroot – antioxidant
  • Orange – activates detoxification enzymes
  • Fennel – absorbs toxins from the intestine, supports kidney detoxification
  • Apple – contains antioxidants and bioflavonoids which enhance the action of Vitamin C to support blood circulation
  • Carrots – provitamin; beta-carotene intercepts free radicals

With the Detox's nutritious meal plan, the body does not fall into "starvation mode," where metabolism slows down in response to a drastic decrease in caloric intake. Healthy foods and beverages allow the metabolism and digestion to continue to run smoothly (and when the body achieves the optimal alkaline environment, it becomes easier to burn fat). When this way of eating is paired with Qi Gong exercises and spa treatments, it provides a powerful reset and boost in wellbeing.

Below, we've shared the full rundown on the 10-Day Home Detox, chock-full of specific recipes and remedies. Try it out, and let us know how you feel by the e

TCM DETOX – DAY 1

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions:

Breakfast: Orange muesli. Finely puree the juice of half an orange with 1 banana. Add 1 orange (diced), 1 tablespoon of tigernut flakes and raisins each. Mix all ingredients with warm porridge or rice congee. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1 apple

Lunch + second snack: Potato leek soup. Steam 200g of potatoes and 200g of leek, diced, in 1 tablespoon of oil. Add 500ml of broth, preferably vegetable broth, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Add 1 bay leaf. Remove the leaf and puree the soup. Season the soup with salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of dill. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1 pear

Dinner: 1 yellow pepper, 1 carrot, 1 small courgette, 1 beetroot bulb, 100g potatoes, 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, pepper, 2 tablespoons orange juice, 2 tablespoons broth, 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley, 3 tablespoons rice congee

Dinner: Warm salad. Mix together 1 chopped yellow pepper, 1 chopped carrot, 1 small chopped courgette, 1 chopped beetroot bulb, 100g sliced potatoes, 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt and pepper. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roast everything in the oven for about 20 minutes at 250°C; turn once. In a separate bowl, mix 2 tablespoons each of orange juice and vegetable broth, and season with salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley; drizzle over the vegetables. Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side dish.

TCM Detox Exercise: "meditate standing upright"

  • Align your feet parallel, about shoulder-width apart, and make sure the toes are not pointing outwards. Shift your weight to the lateral border of the feet. Open your knees slightly o-shaped and slightly draw the tailbone in.
  • Lay your hands on each other (with the left hand below the right) and position them onto the lower energy center/lower dantian. Close your eyes, slowly breathe in and out, and shift seven-tenths of your weight below the waist. Lower your pelvis towards a sitting position while slightly bending your knees.
  • Position your arms circular in front of your body as if you were holding a lightweight water ball, with your palms facing your body. Abduct your thumb in front of the palm (like a tiger's mouth).
  • Vacate your armpit (imagine an egg laying right in your armpit).
  • Softly gaze into the far distance – see everything but do not reflect. Slowly breathe in and out.
  • Hold for up to ten minutes.

TCM Detox Treatment: Start your detox at home by de-acidifying with the Susanne Kaufmann Alkali Salt. Alkali salt helps to reduce the acidity of the skin, promotes the elimination of waste products and releases blocked energies while simultaneously creating a relaxing effect. Add 5 measuring spoons of the Susanne Kaufmann Alkali Salt to your bath water. Soak for 40 minutes in pleasantly warm water, then apply an aftercare product of your choice. We recommend Pomegranate Oil

TCM Detox Tip: Before starting your detox, ask yourself what you would like to achieve. To gain an entirely new body sensation or a change in eating habits? Or, should your detox be a well-used time of reflection? Write down the reasons.

TCM DETOX – DAY 2

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions:

Breakfast + first snack: Mango smoothie. Finely puree 1⁄2 mango and 1 banana and mix with the juice of 1 orange. If desired, fill the blender with water to thin the smoothie, and drink slowly. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1 apple

Lunch: Crete-salad. Briefly sweat 1⁄4 cucumber, 100g cherry tomatoes (halved), 50g rocket and 1 tablespoon of Kalamata olives in sesame oil. Pour the mixture in a bowl. Add dressing of 2 tablespoons orange juice, 2 tablespoons vegetable broth, 1 teaspoon olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 mango

Dinner: Vegetable curry. Steam 150g potatoes (diced), 1 small fennel (diced), 1 shallot and 10g ginger (finely chopped) with cumin and curry to taste. Add 100ml of vegetable broth and simmer for 15 minutes with a closed lid. Serve with 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped coriander leaves and a side dish of 3 tablespoons of rice congee.

TCM Detox Exercise: "awaken your Qi"

  • Align your feet about shoulder-width apart and slightly bend your knees. Lift up your arms in front of your body. Relax your elbow joints and bring your arms to a horizontal position. Palms should be facing downwards. Inhale. Watch the space between arms and body to be able to inhale entirely.
  • When you have reached the horizontal, carefully stretch your knee joints.
  • Lower your arms. In doing so, exhale and slightly bend your knees again.
  • Repeat 3 times.

TCM Detox Treatment: Detox oil scrub. This gentle body scrub with sesame oil and apricot kernels stimulates the detoxification process. Peeling particles remove dead skin cells, allowing the skin to quickly regenerate while preparing it for the products that follow. Furthermore, the peeling stimulates the metabolism and supports drainage. Apply an aftercare product of your choice, like Pomegranate Oil.

TCM Detox Tip: Drink warm water or tea when the urge to eat outside of meal times arises.

TCM DETOX – DAY 3

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions

Breakfast: Apple-banana muesli. Mix 1 apple and half a banana (diced), juice of 1 orange, 1 tablespoon raisins with 1 tablespoon of tigernut flakes. Stir the mixture in warm porridge or rice congee. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1 carrot and half a banana. Cut in thin slices and drizzle balsamic vinegar on top.

Lunch: Parsnip-carrot soup. Steam 150g parsnips, 200g carrots, 10g ginger (everything diced) in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 500ml of vegetable broth and let it simmer for about 20 minutes with closed lid; finely puree. Season with salt, pepper and cumin. Serve with 1 tablespoon of chopped chives. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1 pear

Dinner: Roasted pumpkin. Put 500g Hokkaido pumpkin (diced) and 100g cherry tomatoes (halved) on a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper. Mix the pumpkin with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon thyme, salt and pepper. Cook in the oven for about 25 minutes at 220°C. Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side dish.

TCM Detox Exercise: "open the chest"

  • Align your feet shoulder-width apart and slightly bend your knees. Lift up your arms in front of your body. Relax your elbow joints and bring your arms to a horizontal position. Palms should be facing downwards; inhale. Watch the space between arms and body to be able to inhale entirely
  • Stop opening. Inhale into the full horizontal with a lateral bending extension of the arms, without completely stretching the elbow joints. Exhale.
  • Close your arms in the horizontal position, palms facing each other at the body’s core (without touching each other). Turn the arms downwards at the center and slowly let them sink beneath your body.
  • After you have exhaled let your arms hang loosely beneath your body.
  • Repeat 3-4 times.

TCM Detox Treatment: Dip a pair of cotton socks in warm water mixed with alkali salt (3 tablespoons per 1 liter of water) and wring out thoroughly. Put on base stockings and pull over dry socks. Wear overnight.

TCM Detox Tip: For a morning power drink, infuse the juice of half a lemon and 1 slice of ginger with 1 1⁄4 cups hot water. Insert 1 tablespoon of honey.

TCM DETOX – DAY 4

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions

Breakfast: Papaya smoothie. Puree the flesh of 1 papaya, 1 banana, juice of 1 orange with 1 teaspoon of linseed oil; dilute with water. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: Mix 1⁄2 bunch of steamed small radishes with 1⁄2 grated cucumber. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Lunch: Beetroot-apple salad. Mix 300g cooked beetroot and 1 apple (both grated), 10g ginger (finely chopped), 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves with a seasoning of 4 tablespoons orange juice, 1 teaspoon olive oil, cumin, salt and pepper. Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side dish. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 mango

Dinner: Coconut soup. Steam 1 onion (finely chopped), 10g ginger (finely chopped), 200g carrots (finely sliced) and 1 small red chilli pepper (finely chopped) in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 1 teaspoon of curry paste to 200ml reduced-fat coconut milk and 150ml vegetable broth, mixed together. Simmer for 10 minutes. Afterwards, add 100g of snow peas (halved) and cook for 3 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

TCM Detox Exercise: Breathing-Qi (lung/colon)

  • Align your feet about shoulder-width apart, with knees slightly bent.
  • Allow arms to hang loosely by your sides. Keep shoulders loose.
  • Fully concentrate on your energy center. Repeat 3-6 times.

Inhale period:

  • Raise arms in front of the body, all the way to the chest. Your fingers should be pointing at each other, palms facing upwards in front of the lower dantian. Then, face the palms downward and lower the arms to the lower dantian; eyes follow.
  • Open the arms in a half circle high up above the head ("like a flower") with palms facing upwards towards the sky.
  • Open up your chest – open arms to shoulder height with palms facing towards the sky, above shoulder height; turn your palms and face towards the ground.
  • Lower your arms in big circles; simultaneously tilt the upper body as knees remain slightly bent.
  • At the lowest point, point the fingers at each other (without contact) and lift them upwards in a palm, in approximately a 5cm distance to the body's midline.
  • Lift the upper body; simultaneously form a round shape with your arms. (To do so, brace the elbows.)
  • Raise your eyes and lift your heels (or, if statically not possible, lift internally). When the arms reach their highest point above the head, bring the whole body into a stretching position.

Exhale period:

  • Slowly pull apart the arms (like pulling your fingers apart with a thick mass sticking between).
  • Lower the heels and lower the arms

TCM Detox Treatment: skin care clarifying with scrub and mask. In response to the detoxification process, your skin can react with impurities. Gently remove dead skin cells with the Susanne Kaufmann Enzyme Peel. Then, apply the Healing Earth Mask for deep cleansing and clarification of the skin. Remove after 15 minutes and apply your usual day or regeneration cream.

TCM Detox Tip: Giving up coffee can potentially lead to headache. Several drops of peppermint oil on your temples can help relieve tension.

TCM DETOX – DAY 5

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions

Breakfast: Pear muesli. Mix 1 pear (diced), juice of half an orange, 1 tablespoon raisins and 1 tablespoon tigernut flakes, add to warm porridge or rice congee. Mix in 1 teaspoon of linseed oil. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1 apple

Lunch: Tomato-pepper soup. Steam 2 red peppers and 1 onion (both diced) in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 1 small can of chopped tomatoes and simmer for approximately 15 minutes. Puree finely, season with salt and pepper. Serve with 1⁄4 yellow pepper and 1⁄4 cucumber (both diced) and add chervil leaves, if desired. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 mango

Dinner: Potato salad. Peel 200g potatoes, cut in slices and cook in salted water for 5 minutes; drain. Mix 2 tablespoons orange juice, 2 tablespoons vegetable broth, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon parsley, 1⁄2 teaspoon mustard and salt. Cut 1⁄2 bunch of small radish and 1⁄2 cucumber in thin slices, mix together with the seasoning and add to the lukewarm potatoes. Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side.

TCM Detox Exercise: "For the core" (spleen/stomach)

  • Align feet shoulder width apart with bent knees. Arms hang loose and shoulders are loose. Rotate arms so palms are facing forwards at first, then upwards

Inhale period:

  • Lift up the arms in front of you, palms facing upwards. Place the left hand above the right, chest-height, and bend both elbows. Place palms, one above the other, at a width of one fist from the body. Then, turn both wrists outwards, upwards and downwards, semi-circular with a stable hand posture. Slowly come into a vertical stretch.
  • The Laogong (energy center at the center of the palm) pulls both arms vertically apart.
  • Lift the left arm with rotation coming from the Ming-men (waist height, spine) to the top left. Lower right arm in vertical stretching. Don't tilt into the pelvis; keep upright. Finger tips are pointing towards the body.

Exhale period:

  • Lift up the right arm and lower the left arm to the height of the shoulder in a vertical stretching position. With a stable hand posture, fingertips pointing upwards, slowly lower, fingers pointing downwards. Afterwards, place the left hand above the right, palms facing upwards. Start with right (as mentioned before) but reversed; lift right arm and lower the left one.
  • Eyes are following the arm's movements to the top. Don't overstretch your neck.

TCM Detox Treatment: Basic liver pack. The liver pack promotes the blood circulation of the liver and by lying down, the detoxification is optimally supported. The best time for a liver pack is 2pm, simply because the liver is most active around that time. Furthermore the liver pack has a calming and de-stressing effect, and supports a good sleep.

  • Soak a towel with warm alkaline solution
  • Wrap a hot water bottle in the wet towel
  • Place the liver pack directly on your bare skin (beneath the right costal arch)
  • Wrap everything with a dry towel
  • Finally, wrap the body with a blanket
  • Let the liver pack take its effect for 25 minutes
  • Remove the pack and rest for a bit

TCM Detox Tip: Motivate yourself with selective rewards. Pay a visit to the beautician – now is the ideal time to indulge in something special.

TCM DETOX – DAY 6

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions:

Breakfast: Mango muesli. Puree 1 banana with the juice of 1 orange. Mix in 1 tablespoon tigernut flakes, 1 tablespoon raisins and half a mango (diced). Add to warm porridge or rice congee. Stir in 1 teaspoon of linseed oil. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 mango

Lunch: Beetroot stew. Stir 200g cooked beetroot, 150g leek, 100g carrots, 100g white cabbage (everything finely diced) with 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and sauté with 1 tablespoon of oil. Pour in 500ml vegetable broth. Add 1 bay leaf, 2 cloves, 2 tablespoons of dried porcini mushrooms and 3 peppercorns and leave to simmer for 25 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of dill. Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side dish. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: Steam 1⁄2 bunch of small radish, grate 1⁄2 cucumber and sprinkle with parsley.

Dinner: Oven-baked parsnips. Preheat oven to 200°C. Mix 400g parsnips (cut in halves, lengthwise) with 1 teaspoon olive oil, salt and pepper and put everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 minutes; turn once. Mix 40g soy yoghurt, 2 tablespoons chopped herbs, salt and pepper for the dip. This also tastes delicious when served cold (e.g. as a snack the following day). Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side dish.

TCM Detox Exercise: "strengthen the heart"

  • Let both arms hang loosely at the sides of your body. While breathing in, place both hands at the lower costal arch (with spread elbows, and without lifting the shoulders) and move both hands with the entire palm upwards along the lateral border of the torso.
  • Point your fingertips forwards, turn your palms downwards and lower your arms again with the tip of the thumb along the lateral border of the torso ("general strip"). Exhale.
  • Repeat the exercise 3 to 4 times with both hands simultaneously, then 3 to 4 times alternating between the right hand and the left, as described above.
  • For part three, shift so the right hand is going up and left hand is resting. As soon as the right thumb is going down again, let the left hand slowly move upwards. Practice this in a slow or fast pace until a smile appears on your face.

TCM Detox Treatment: Detoxifying alkaline bath. See instructions from Day 1, above.

TCM Detox Tip: When circulatory disorders, dizziness, nausea or intensive sweating occur, drink a tea made with rosemary or hawthorn leaves and a teaspoon of honey. A preventive cold full-body wash (with a washcloth) or a brush massage activates the circulatory system.

TCM DETOX – DAY 7

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions:

Breakfast: Apple muesli. Mix 1 apple (grated) with the juice of half an orange. Mix in 1 tablespoon tigernut flakes and 1 tablespoon raisins. Add to warm porridge or rice congee. Stir in 1 teaspoon of linseed oil. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1 pear or the cold parsnips from the previous day

Lunch: Radicchio-orange salad. Mix 40g radicchio, 1 orange (filleted) with the juice of half an orange, 2 tablespoons vegetable broth, 1 teaspoon olive oil, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons of parsley. Serve 3 tablespoons of rice congee as a side dish. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 cucumber, 1⁄4 radish. Grate, steam in sesame oil and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

Dinner: Fennel-potato soup. Steam 1 fennel bulb, 150g potatoes and 1 onion in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 400ml vegetable broth, allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Add 100g cherry tomatoes (halved) and cook for 3 more minutes. Season with salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons of parsley.

TCM Detox Exercise: "shoot with bow and arrow" (liver)

  • Align feet about double shoulder-width apart. Place your left foot forward to get into a bow stance, let your arms hang loose in front of the lower dantian, and clench your right hand into a Chinese fist. With your left hand, form a V with your thumb and index finger and fold down your finger 3-5 times, so that the fingertips slightly touch the inner finger base joint.
  • Lift your hands in front of the median up to the middle dantian (the energy center between nipples on top of the breastbone) and inhale.
  • With shoulders high, guide your left arm with wrists bent 90° to the left and elbow stretched out. Glance follows the left arm. Simultaneously pull the right fist (with the elbow bent) to the left until reaching the horizontal (like you're drawing the bow). Keep this tense position for several seconds, then release the tension.
  • Come to the center and lower. Exhale. Repeat exactly the same way, 3-4 times to the right.

TCM Detox Treatment: Detox oil scrub. See instructions from Day 2, above.

TCM Detox Tip: If you suffer from flatulence, herbal tea with cumin, fennel and anise helps to reduce the symptoms. Apply a hot water bottle on your abdomen with a circular stomach massage.

TCM DETOX – DAY 8

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions:

Building up (day 1): Fish, meat, milk and grains begin to make their way back as side dishes on our plates. For all of us who missed them dearly, coffee and black tea are allowed as well (1 cup per day). Eat more steamed fish than meat and cook meat at a low temperature.

Breakfast: Pear muesli. Combine 50g cottage cheese and 1 pear, cut in thin slices. Mix with warm porridge or rice congee.

Snack: 1 apple

Lunch: Pepper vegetables with rice. Cook 50g basmati-wholemeal rice in salted water. Dice 1 red and 1⁄2 yellow pepper and cook with 1 clove of garlic in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable broth and mix with 1 tablespoon of parsley. Serve with salt, pepper and rice. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1 orange

Dinner: Spinach salad with scallops. Mix 70g fresh leaf spinach, 70g cherry tomatoes and 1 shallot with 2 tablespoons of vegetable broth, 2 tablespoons orange juice, 1 teaspoon mustard and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Roast 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, add 4 scallops (ready for use) and fry with 1 teaspoon of oil on each side for 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve on top of the spinach salad. Alternatively, swap scallops for 1 slice of fresh tuna.

TCM Detox Exercise: "strengthen the source Qi" (kidney/bladder)

  • Stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and knees straight. Arms hang loose with loose shoulders.

Inhale period:

  • Lift up the arms in front of the body and inhale while drawing the entire body like a bow to the top.
  • Look upwards without letting your head press into the nape of your neck.
  • Carefully lower your torso to the front (hip flexor like folding a pocket knife).
  • Fingers should grab the toes. If not possible, touch the edge of the shinbone with the fingertips while keeping knees straight.
  • Extend your head straight forward like a tortoise. Look straight ahead.
  • Circle your feet (or shinbones) with your hands and run your hands up the outer sides of the legs, all the way to the waist. Then, in circular movements, revert back to the Ming-men (posterior energy center, waist-high). Touch with the palm of your hands.
  • Clench a Chinese fist at the Ming-men: loosely position your thumb on the middle phalanx of the index finger so the opening between thumb and index finger forms a "tiger's mouth."
  • Place the back of the hand on the body, knuckles touching. Stretch the back, like drawing a bow, and look up towards the sky without over-stretching your neck.
  • Unclench fists and lower the arms.

TCM Detox Treatment: Basic liver pack. See instructions from Day 5, above.

TCM Detox Tip: Try the following relaxation exercise: retreat to a quiet spot. Sit down on a comfortable chair. Inhale deeply and consciously through the nose into your stomach, and exhale through your mouth. Think or speak out loud the following sentences and repeat 3 times each: "My body feels calm and relaxed"; "My breathing is quiet and relaxed"; "My soul is calm and relaxed.." Try to feel the rising peace and serenity.

TCM DETOX – DAY 9

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions

Building up (day 2)

Breakfast: Mango muesli. Mix 150g full-fat yogurt with 1 teaspoon and 1⁄2 mango (diced) and pour over the warm porridge. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 mango

Lunch: Carrot-ginger soup. Steam 200g carrots, 150g potatoes (both diced) and 10g ginger for 1 minute in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 500ml of vegetable broth and allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Puree and season with cumin, salt and pepper. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1⁄4 radish, 1 carrot. Grate, steam and sprinkle with balsamic vinegar.

Dinner: Lentils and vegetables with pollock. Steam 1 onion, 2 celery stalks and 1 carrot (finely chopped) for 2 minutes in 1 teaspoon of oil. Add 50g red lentils and 150ml vegetable broth and allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Season with paprika, salt and pepper. Chop 150g pollock in bite-sized cubes, add salt and pepper and fry with 1 teaspoon of oil. Serve together with the lentils and vegetables.

TCM Detox Exercise:

  • Align feet about double shoulder-width apart, straight and parallel. Bend your knees as far as possible and have your thighs in a horizontal line to the floor (if possible).
  • Keep the upper body upright and look straight ahead.
  • When you are in the process of bending your knees, form a Chinese fist with both hands and position them on your waist, on the left and right side of your torso.
  • Align your forearm horizontal to the floor – the loosely closed fingers point upwards and the back of the hand is facing the floor.
  • Start boxing, alternating between the right and left hands.
  • While boxing, turn your arms: when pushing forward your fist, turn the back of your hand upwards, and exhale with a loud, audible sound.
  • When pulling back your fist, turn the back of your hand downwards, and inhale at the same time.
  • Pull back to your body as slowly as possible. (The slower the exercise is conducted, the more effective it is.)
  • Repeat as often as the strength in your legs allow.

TCM Detox Treatment: Moisturizing with the Susanne Kaufmann Hyaluron Serum. The high dosage of Hyaluron in the Susanne Kaufmann Hyaluron Serum instantly provides skin with a significant amount of moisture, both on the surface and deep within the cells. Lines and wrinkles appear visibly reduced after application. Gently apply a few drops in the mornings and evenings before subsequent care to the face, throat and décolletage. Apply the Moisturizing Mask immediately after and let it absorb for 15 minutes. Cleanse with lukewarm water.

TCM Detox TipDetoxification Tea and Acid Alkalizing Tea have proven themselves to be the perfect support during detox. They mobilize the body's own detoxification process and strengthen the body’s defenses.

TCM DETOX – DAY 10

Cuisine Ingredients & Instructions:

Building up (day 3)

Breakfast: Baked tomatoes. Cut 2 tomatoes in 3 slices each, spread with pesto and place basil leaves on top. Spread cottage cheese and a tablespoon of chopped walnuts. Bake in the oven at a temperature of 80°, until the cheese melts. Drink 1 cup of Detoxification Tea.

Snack: 1 apple

Lunch: Chickpea dip. Puree 90g light feta cheese, 50g canned chickpeas, 1 small clove of garlic, salt, pepper and paprika. Served with 1⁄2 each of a peeled red and yellow pepper, 1⁄2 cucumber and 1 steamed chicory. Drink 1 cup of Acid Alkalizing Tea.

Snack: 1⁄2 of a cucumber, 1⁄2 of a red and yellow pepper, grilled in the oven at 200°C for 30 minutes.

Dinner: Chicken breast with root vegetables. Simmer 200g carrots, 1 parsley root, 150g potatoes, 100g leek in 300ml vegetable broth for approximately 15 minutes. Add 120g chicken breast and cook at low temperature for 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of chopped chives.

TCM Detox Exercise: "calming the Qi"

  • Let your arms hang loosely on the sides of your body.
  • Draw the entire body like a bow to the top, palms facing upwards until they're outstretched overhead.
  • Look slightly upwards.
  • Turn palms to each other with approximately 5cm space between.
  • Lower your hands at the median, approximately 10 cm away from the body (palms still facing each other).
  • At the height of the pubic bone, lead your hands outwards, palms slowly turning outward.
  • Lift your arms again to the top. Execute the motion with smooth transitions.
  • Repeat 3-6 times, or as soon as you reach a point of total peace.
  • Close your feet with ankles, knees and thighs touching. Let your arms hang loosely. Put your hands on top of each other in front of the lower dantian (with the right arm below).
  • Close your eyes, breathe in and out, and feel your body. If lateral movements occur naturally, give in. Stand for 2-10 minutes.

TCM Detox Treatment: Herbal Whey Bath. At the end of the TCM Detox, nourishing the body with the Herbal Whey Bath is recommended. It contains active ingredients derived from lime blossoms and camomile. It sustainably calms and nourishes skin. The whey has a detoxifying effect and regulates the pH balance of the skin. Lime blossoms and chamomile are known for their warming and balancing properties. Five to seven tablespoons are enough for a complete, relaxing bath.

TCM Detox Tip: Scrape your tongue. The coating of the tongue shows that the detoxification process is in full process. Buy a tongue scraper for cleansing in the morning.
