If the color trends of 2016 are any indication, this year may be one of calm. For the first time in a longstanding tradition, The Pantone institute focused on not just one, but two colors for its annual Color of the Year announcement. And, there’s a direct wellness tie to their rationale. In choosing Rose Quartz and Serenity, Pantone explained a growing desire to “seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses” and how these colors join together to “demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” There’s no place better than your beauty routine to validate this balance.

Spritzing rosewater on your skin has tons of skin care benefits, like depuffing, calming irritated skin, hydrating dry areas and setting makeup in place. An afternoon refresh is a calming ritual for all senses. To Buy: Aster & Bay Rosewater Mist ($26)

The very definition of serenity is this concentrated moisturizing blue balm. It’s formulated with blue tansy – from chamomile – which is known for easing emotional anxiety. To Buy: May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon ($160)

Rosy lips give a natural brightness to your face. This lipstick was developed with the ancient ayurvedic rituals in mind and is like a juice for you lips, with organic cold pressed oils from pumpkin, kiwi, raspberry and pomegranate. To Buy: nūdus Lipstick in Halo ($38)

Rose quartz in color and the secret ingredient that will help calm your skin is a tree resin called Sangro de Drago. It works by forming an invisible barrier on skin and time releases its healing power overnight while you sleep. To Buy: La Bella Figura Cream Virtuosa ($125)

Whether or not you are able to actually escape to a serene beach, this nail color brings the resort vibes to you. To Buy: Essie Lapiz of Luxury ($8)

The rosy aroma of this gentle body wash is an uplifting perk in the shower, and the oversized bottle means you will be able to enjoy it for months to come. To Buy: JASON Pure Natural Body Wash ($13)
