The Easiest Green Juice

Need an extra boost to help you get out the door tomorrow morning? Try this simple recipe from Suja Juice founder, Annie Lawless.

If we are being honest, juicing at home has alluded us for years. While we love the idea in theory, we tend to fall short when it comes to execution. We asked Suja co-founder, Annie Lawless, to share her favorite go-to recipe that even the biggest juice novice can make at home.

Whenever I’m feeling sluggish from overindulgence, stress, or simply not eating enough fresh greens and veggies, I drink this juice once or twice a day for a week. It gives my body a detoxifying reboot by oxygenating my blood, hydrating my cells, and flushing my system. I like to keep the base very water rich - alkalizing celery is the perfect choice because it is high in the natural electrolytes magnesium and potassium, and is also rich in amino acids. I keep the fruit low with just one green apple, which is lower in sugar than other apple varieties (but has enough sweetness to take the edge off any green bitterness). I add parsley, which is an energizing blood detoxifier; ginger, a digestive aid that helps beat bloating; and lots of alkalizing fresh lemon to round out this powerfully cleansing juice and add a punch of bright flavor.

½ head lacinato kale
1 Granny Smith apple
1 bunch of celery
½ bunch flat leaf parsley
2 lemons
1 small piece of fresh ginger (you can adjust to your liking)

 Juice all ingredients and enjoy!
