By now, you've probably seen a lot of the same ingredients repeat themselves over and over in DIY recipes. A great example is honey, making an appearance in every moisturizing scrub ever created. We're not throwing any shade at honey, it's amazing (and if that's all you have, by all means, swap it in!). But here what you may find surprising: the list of ingredients in your cabinet that are good for your skin is basically endless! If you're like me (Adina), eventually you'll be mixing cookie dough in one bowl and a scrubby cleanser in another. This recipe is no different (it's just that easy) and was created specifically for you, Clementines!

Clementine Scrubby Face Cleanser
4 T maple syrup
4 T ground oats or oat flour
1 generous pinch turmeric
1 T olive oil (optional but recommended)

Method: Combine all ingredients to make a thick paste and scrub gently on face using small circular motions. Leave on until dry, if desired. Rinse with water and follow with a light moisturizer.

Benefits: Maple syrup is high in antioxidants and Zinc. It's also incredibly hydrating and a humectant. Turmeric fights bacteria, helping with acne and balances oil production. Oats are gentle exfoliators that melt in water, hydrate the skin and clear away dead skin cells. Olive oil will soften and moisturize!
