We're always looking for ways to jazz up our everyday beverages when the winter doldrums set in, so we asked our resident London expert Giulia Audrey Doyle to share a local favorite: the Earl Gray latte, a.k.a. London Fog. Enjoy her easy recipe below - trust us, it's one you're going to want to bookmark:
INGREDIENTS (Makes 16 oz, or 1 large cup)
Hot Water, almost boiling
3 teaspoons of Earl Grey Tea or 1 tea bag
3 teaspoons of coconut sugar or brown sugar
8 oz of warmed milk, plus extra for foaming
Vanilla syrup, available at your grocery store or local coffee shop.
Steep 3 teaspoons of tea (or one bag) and 3 teaspoons of sugar in 8 oz of boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
While tea is steeping, gently warm 8 oz of milk in microwave or on stove top. Add warmed milk to tea and remove tea bag or tea egg.
Add 3 pumps of vanilla syrup.
Top it off with milk foam created with your foamer or by whisking warmed milk.
