Certified nutrition coach Lauren Chambers is here to help elevate our dessert game AND passion with our partners this Valentine's Day, thanks to these decadent and libido-enhancing dark chocolate pot de cremes, topped with coconut whipped cream.

We're firm believers that food is love, and there's no better way to show someone you care about them than by whipping up their favorite holiday treat or simmering a batch of soup when they're sick. The energy, time and thought that go into preparing a nourishing, delicious dish for someone else represent a true testament to love indeed.

This Valentine's Day, we're stepping it up a notch by creating a decadent dessert that not only tastes amazing — hello, salted dark chocolate anything — but also contains adaptogens to naturally boost your sex drive. This way, you can elevate your dessert game and your passion with your partner.

Sound too good to be true? Research shows that you can support your endocrine system with the right foods that help your body produce enough testosterone to give your sex drive a lift. Specifically, there are certain adaptogens — super herbs and roots — that regulate hormones, improve your energy and mood and increase your desire for (and enjoyment of) sex.

This dessert contains sexy superstar Maca powder, which is a well-researched root extract that assists in increasing testosterone levels, promoting endurance and stamina, and encouraging bigger and better orgasms (umm, yes please)! It also has a nutty caramel flavor that complements the rich dark chocolate and creamy coconut milk included in the recipe.

There's an additional libido lift from Cordyceps, a type of adaptogenic mushroom that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries as a way to boost oxygen synthesis, sexual energy, stamina, muscle tone and recovery. And let's not forget the dark chocolate itself, which is rich in antioxidants as well as tryptophan, a building block of the brain chemical involved in sexual arousal.

INGREDIENTS (serves 4)

For the pots de creme:

  • 1 9-oz bag of unsweetened dark chocolate chips
  • 1 can organic coconut milk
  • 1 organic egg
  • 1/4 cup unrefined sweetener (either maple syrup or coconut nectar)
  • 2 tsp organic vanilla extract
  • 1 packet Foursigmatic Cordyceps Mushroom Elixir
  • 1 tsp Maca powder
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt

For the coconut whipped cream:

  • 1 can coconut cream, cooled in fridge at least 24 hours prior
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or coconut nectar
  • 1 tsp organic vanilla extract
  • sprinkle of Himalayan sea salt

DIRECTIONS

For the pots de creme:

  1. Heat coconut milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until very hot (but be careful not to boil).
  2. Toss all other ingredients except sea salt in a high-speed blender.
  3. Pour the hot coconut milk over ingredients and blend until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and thick.
  4. Pour into individual serving cups, sprinkle the tops with sea salt and refrigerate until set, at least 2 hours (or 1 hour in the freezer).

For the coconut whipped cream:

  1. Blend ingredients with beaters in a large mixing bowl until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Chill in the fridge until the pots de creme are ready to serve, and spoon on top.
