It has been 10 years. 10 years, 2 states, 3 houses, 2 children, (you don't even want to know how many jobs) and 1 dog.

Many things have changed in the 10 years my husband and I have been married: our geographical location, how we spend our "free time", and perhaps most apparent - the amount of sleep we get nightly.

But, many things have stayed the same: we still love to entertain our friends (and now their families), but now our approach is even more mellow and casual. We still use the same pots, pans, and dishes we received as wedding gifts 10 years prior - chips, dents and all. And, we are still actively using towels that I received at my first bridal shower. I know, I know!

We have a wise and lovely Home & Living contributor, Amanda Gibby Peters, who recently penned a post for Clementine on life changing updates for your space. Did you know that chipped dishes can inhibit prosperity and foggy or dirty windows may be blocking mental clarity? Essentially, our homes and the items in it are metaphors for our lives.

I decided to use this pending anniversary celebration as an impetus to create a home that is open, loving, full of good energy and thoughtful pieces that serve a purpose. No easy feat, but what better time to update our everyday items and welcome abundance with open arms than while celebrating a milestone in my family's life?

I recently discovered Snowe and fell in love with the clean, simple lines and beautiful designs. It is the perfect meld of what I want in my space: minimal, gorgeous and approachable.

Their dinnerware is timeless and includes everything from flatware to plates to the perfect champagne flute (trust me on this one).

The bed linens are crisp and dare I say, the best I have ever owned. I think I underestimated the power of a comfy, tranquil bedroom for far too long. Needless to say, I now understand and subscribe to the hype.

Finally, the aforementioned towels. The towels! This was long overdue and much appreciated by my family and houseguests alike ( I think it safe to assume on the latter).

While there is much more to a home than the necessities that support your everyday life and much more to lasting marriage than updating your dishes, I think there is an important and often overlooked message here: invest in what is important and the rest will fall into place. At least, that is how I have decided to celebrate the past 10 years...and how I plan to approach the next 10.

Speaking of celebrations, Snowe is celebrating their first anniversary! Until next Wednesday (July 6), they are offering an exclusive Snowe birthday bundle - hurry over to check it out!
