Be honest: When was the last time your home felt fresh and clean? Without an open window or cracked door – which is out of the question in winter – our homes just never feel as nice as they could.

Until now. With the last grasps of winter still hanging around, there are a few things you can do to get your home feeling its freshest ever. Some may seem simple, but put them all together and your home will feel as promising as a (soon-to-come) spring day.

Get your cleaning hat on, Clementines, because we’re about to share some great basic home-pepping tips that are easy to do and will keep your home fresh.

Change your linens and towels once a week. This is something you should do for cleaning purposes anyway, but clean towels and linens also contribute to the feeling of a fresh home. After all, there’s no denying that getting into a clean bed with freshly washed sheets at the end of the day is one of the finest things in life.

Splurge on fresh flowers. Because you deserve it, and because a vase of fresh flowers on a kitchen or side table can change the entire feeling of a room. Be sure to change the water every couple of days, and stick to simple, single-colored flowers if you’re on a budget.

Pepper plants throughout your home. Speaking of greenery, buy yourself a couple of houseplants or greens and keep them in various, slightly unexpected, areas throughout your home (think a bathroom, a bookshelf or an entryway). Consider air-cleaning greenery like aloe or spider plants for added benefits.

Rearrange your furniture. When was the last time you moved your couch, or rearranged your bedroom furniture? When things feel stale, freshen up the space by breaking from your normal routine and creating a new layout. It can make a huge difference on your mood - added bonus: it won't break the bank!
